Jen and Matt held a beautiful wedding reception at DuBois Country Club. The room looked amazing!!! The night reflected their own style and taste with a very smooth introduction to Ray LaMontagne’s “You’re The Best Thing”, to some Prince for the bouquet and garter toss. One of my favorite parts of the reception was when the entire room came to the dance floor to sing “American Pie” as the unofficial Inzana Family Wedding Tradition. Take a look at the video:
Jamie is the best of the best. He made our wedding perfect down to the very last detail. It was by far the most fun wedding I have ever been to (even if it was my own). The amount of energy he radiates throughout the crowd is outstanding, there was never a dull moment, and the dance floor was completely full from the first open dance to the end of the night. His experience and professionalism took a tremendous weight off of our shoulders and helped us to enjoy our wedding just as much as everyone else did!
The dance floor was really packed from the begining of the night to the very end!!!
Thank you so much for everything you did to allow our wedding to be an absolute amazing experience!! I thought the wedding monogram looked awesome and it was the first thing I saw when I walked through the door! The slideshow looked amazing also. And the reception in general… Jasen and I had a freakin blast! You made every part of the reception run so smoothly and you made it so much fun with the way you did things and the props that were perfect! I wish i had a video of “Aunt Gail” and Bobby the “Jersey Shore” boy doing the garter!!! Oh my gosh… that was way too funny.
Honestly, you were the best! We’d definately recommend you and will have you again if we ever have another occasion!
Megan and Jasen
Megan and Jasen hosted an amazing celebration at DuBois Country Club. There are so many ways to personalize a reception. Megan and Jasen decided to add a beautiful custom monogram at the entrance (pictured above) and a continuous photo montage display on a 42″ plasma near the cookie table (pictured below).
My favorite part however was Jasen’s toast to Megan. It was sweet, sincere, and very colorful. (especially the part of how nervous he was)
And Finally, a really awesome trivia game to allow any three tables in the room to get a chance to go to the buffet first.
I didn’t even mention a great Father/Daughter, Mother/Son Dance. A wonderful toast by Philip to Nicole, and a dance floor that was hopping before dinner was even finished.
Did I mention a monogram at the entrance, amber uplighting, and a rockin’ dance floor (yeah maybe I did).
After I sent Philip’s dad a copy of my playlist for the night this is the note I recieved in return.
You are da Bomb!
I just have to say, listening to the last hour or so of music (I was using Shazam on my iPhone to capture the music titles) that the whole wedding reception was brought back so vividly.
OK…so I’m a sucker for music, but you really made the wedding reception memorable. Your selection and combination of titles was just excellent. You are worth every penny you charge!
Thanks for the list…this should keep me busy for a while.
Don’t hesitate to book Jamie Simpson right away for your wedding! Our wedding guests are still complementing my husband and I on Jamie’s talent. It’s amazing to look back on our reception pictures and see everyone on the dance floor laughing and having a good time!!
Had a really great time with Courtney and Michael at their April 24th wedding reception at the DuBois Country Club. The tone was set with their grand introductions as the bridesmaids entered to “Glamorous”, the groomsman entered to “Sabotage” (yes, very video-esque) and the happy couple arrived to James Brown, ”Get Up Off That Thing” !!!
Just after the main course, the groomsman got the head table to do “The Wave”. I don’t even want to tell you how many attempts they made before they got it right. :) With a little assistance, and some backround music (Hawaii 5-0 theme) they were able to get the WHOLE ROOM to participate….. TWICE!
A romantic first dance to At Last by Etta James kicked off the evening.
Michael and Courtney’s guests were then ready to Get Down Tonight!!!
Alex and Laura went above and beyond with the planning, detailing, and production of their recent wedding reception in DuBois, PA. While I do many events at the DuBois County Club, this event raised the bar with all of their unique touches. Alex and Laura reserved the Houserockers DJ 6 hour premium package that included matching pink uplighting and a custom gobo projection. Their reception was sooooo good they still needed 2 additional hours of overtime because no one was ready to go home.
View of the room from my perspective.

Is the party really complete until Alex and one of his buddies decides to dance on the tables???
My friend Joelle Watt shoots amazing photos…. not like these snapshots with my little camera. Check out HER photos from the event… HERE. Simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
Alex and ME … he is squeezing my cheeks by the way.
Could not have been happier with the services that were provided. We had the best time and heard the same from countless people. Our guests were so impressed with our DJ. We got more compliments on our DJ and the music than any other service at the wedding. It really made the night perfect!
In an effort to get my blog caught up before the end of the week, I’m going to consolidate my 7 May Weddings into one post.
Ashley and Jason – May 2nd, 2009 – Sheraton Station Square – Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
That view of the city is the reason Ashley and Jason selected this amazing venue. I had the pleasure of also offering uplighting and additional sound in the ballroom and the river room.
We kicked off the night with a circle of love first dance…
That transitioned into a very emotional Father/Daughter Dance.
…. of course things got a little crazy during the open dancing….
That went late into the night!
John and Crista – May 9th, 2009 – DuBois Country Club
Another beautiful wedding reception for a great couple John and Crista.
It wouldn’t be a party until Piano Man was played …
Thanks John and Crista!
Jennifer and Caleb – May 16th, 2009 – The Rivers Club – Pittsburgh, PA
Jamie,
Caleb and I wanted to let you know what a great job you did at our reception. Caleb had a fear of DJs until our wedding day. You are truly like no other DJ that we have ever seen. You had everyone up and moving the whole night. We had a great time and wanted to thank you again. You made our reception one to remember.
Thanks Jen and Caleb
Of course, I left my camera at home for Jen and Caleb’s event. Fortunately, Jen was able to share some of their images from their photographer, Theresa Glenn. ENJOY!!!!
Rob and Lynne – May 29th, 2009 – Pittsburgh Zoo
Unfortunately, my photos are lost for Amy and Dave / Michael and Beth / Tony and Amanda
Diana and Andrew had an amazing wedding reception just north of Pittsburgh at one of my favorite venues, DuBois Country Club. Diana and Andrew booked my services all the way back in February of 2008 after seeing me at their friends wedding, Natalie and Mike. Here we are at Andy and Diana’s reception
Andy and Diana selected the Houserockers DJ Unlimited Package. They decided to include the monogram projection, uplighting with custom color, a photo montage and 8 hours of music.
Monogram Projection with Custom Design Light Blue Uplighting
A real cool concept we developed together was taking a traditional photo montage and taking it to the “next level.” I call it a Love Story with Photos. Take a look!
We also had a surprise visitor!!!
No State Troopers where hurt in that photo shoot!!!
Speaking of photos… If you want to some sneak peaks from their photographer Joelle Watt, click here.
Once Again, This Pittsburgh Wedding DJ is back at DuBois Country Club. Yes, three weddings in four weeks! Ben and Mollie are a great couple and their reception was a blast! Here is a video of the Just Got Married Game.
Joe and Melanie celebrated a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception just north of Pittsburgh in Dubois, Pennsylvania. The event was held at the DuBois Country Club. I also had the pleasure of working with Chris and Hollie from Minds Eye Photography. As usual they are a blast to work with and I have a few of their images to post this week in the blog.
So what did Melanie have to say …..
Hi Jamie,
We just wanted to thank you for everything you did for our wedding & reception!
We had SO much fun and our guests raved about you and have been asking who our DJ was for the last three weeks! Everyone was impressed with your professionalism, style, equipment, music selection, props and your ability to involve everyone at the reception. People loved the newlywed game we played during dinner and everyone was thrilled with how you got the kids out on the dance floor and kept them moving when they would otherwise be bored. Our guests felt like they were included and it was fun for them (as well as fun for us) which is exactly how we wanted our reception!
I was originally so sad about having to move our ceremony inside but you ran with the idea and made some fast suggestions and thanks to your suggestions everything was just gorgeous! Also our first dance was a dream thanks to your idea of Joe’s speech leading into the first dance and then having all of our guests circle us during the song – WOW! Brilliant on your part! Thank you!
You absolutely made our reception! It was a blast and we are happy to recommend Houserockers to all of our friends getting married in PA.
We can’t say enough good things about the service and experience you gave us and our guests at our wedding!
