Amazing Wedding held in Clarion with Deanna and Brian.
Sometimes the most memorable part of a wedding is not planned or well thought out or even perfectly timed. It just happens! Sure the night was romantic, beautiful and everything Deanna and Brian had ever dreamed of, but surely the most memorable part was when Brian ran up to me during the open dancing and said…. “It’s time for Invisible Touch”.
Here is Brian and Deanna’s Wedding Wire Review:
Jamie did an awesome job at our wedding. We didn’t have to worry about a thing! He was extremely professional and very helpful. From the moment the bridal party walked in the door, he knew exactly what to do and took charge. I was able to relax and enjoy my reception because I knew Jamie could handle everything. The music was perfect. He played everything that we requested and everyone raved that we had awesome music at our reception! Thank you Jamie, you were fantastic!
Brian and Deanna
A great time was had by all of Brian and Deanna’s friends and family especially a friend that we will call “Jim”. “Jim” was on the dancefloor with Brian and of their college buddies but didn’t dance to anything. Not a THING! As I picked up on this it became the running joke of the night. Also, I kept calling him Tim, which was kinda funny too! Finally I just stopped the music near the end of the night and asked “Jim” the next song was his and I would play anything he wanted. The best he could come up with was Metalica – “Enter Sandman”. So I played it. And Jim DANCED!!!! (sort of)
Jim’s friend Jon summed up the wedding like this via Facebook:
The DJ mocked Jim for not dancing and played Metallica. The dudes got cut off (at the bar) all at once…. Oh and Brian & Deanna got married.
Once Again, my clients choose stunning places to have their events. Katie and Gary selected The Grand Concourse. It is part of the Station Square Complex on the south side of Pittsburgh. The Grand Concourse is the lobby for the old Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad. The place oozes history!
Here is a view from below looking back up the staircase.
I’m actually set up on the second floor where the open dancing took place. All of the formal dances happened on the landing pictured below.
In the main bar area on the lower level, I provided a plasma display for a photo slide show of Katie and Gary. It was included in their Houserockers DJ 6 hour premium package.
Katie and Gary choose the perfect venue as it showcased the formal side of the event downstairs and when it came time to dance, the party was ON upstairs!
Megan and Jeff held a fantastic wedding reception at the Holiday Inn – Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Megan and Jeff choose the Houserockers Standard Package. Megan’s mom, Karen was at a wedding I performed at a few years ago and had to have me for her daughter’s wedding. Megan and Jeff set the tone for the night with their entrance music with them arriving to “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”, which led them to cutting their John Deer Tractor cake, and we wrapped up the night with “Big Green Tractor. No it wasn’t a country themed wedding, as I played a wide variety of music, but it just goes to show you that with some well placed music, you can really personalize an event to reflect a bride and groom’s taste and style. It was really a fun reception with lots of interactivity, props, and group dances.
I also got to see my friends Ryan and Kristen who I did their wedding back in July of 2009. Here is a link to theirblog entry.
At the end of the night, I look for a few clues to see if people really enjoyed themselves. Here is one of those clues:
Erin and Pat planned a magnificent wedding reception atThe Casino at Lakemont Parkin Altoona, PA for New Years Eve. I usually don’t share client specific agendas but through a collaboration of Pat, Erin, Doug Simon from The Casino, and myself, we came up with something unique and original that really worked for a New Years Eve wedding celebration.
Cocktails
Introductions (guests to be standing around edge of dance floor or near entrance) (I Gotta Felling / Let It Rock)
Open Dance (2 fast)
Cake Cutting:
Toasts:
Patrick’s Welcome – First Dance: At Last – Etta James
2 slow dances
Dinner – buffet / bar closed / vocal jazz dinner music
Father/Daughter: My Girl – The Temptations
Mother/Son: Unforgettable – Nat King Cole
Step-Father/Daughter: Wait For Me – Bob Seger
OPEN DANCING
Bouquet Toss
Dollar Dance
It’s rare to have any dancing before the meal let alone fast dancing, but this really set the tone for a fun action packed NYE. The slow dancing following Patrick’s speech and the couples first dance really added a more classic feeling to the reception. The best part was all the guests loved it and participated with lots of dancing.
Here is the last 4 minutes of 2009 leading into the new year.
Just north of Pittsburgh, PA I had the pleasure of being included in Lindsay and Keenan’s wedding reception. The celebration was held at the newly renovated Avalon Country Club. Without a doubt, it is one of the most the elegant banquet facilities I have ever seen.
The reception was amazing. Great energy and enthusiasm from Lindsay and Keenan’s friends and family. Wonderful toasts by some old friends of mine, Chis and Adriann. (December 2006) The highlight of the party was a suprise choregraphed first dance.
Dear Jamie,
We want to thank you for making our wedding exactly what we were hoping it would be. It exceeded our expectations, thanks to your help. You made it so much fun for everyone. Thanks for keeping it organized and for your help in making our first dance so memorable. We can’t say enough great things about you and will be sure to recommend you to our friends. We appreciate your hard work, thoughtfulness, and professionalism. Thank you for everything, and we hope to see you at future weddings.

Sometimes you just click with people. AJ was the bestman at Lance and Megan’s wedding back in July of 2006 in New Castle, PA and for some reason we just “hit it off”. He is a wild and crazy guy (kinda like myself) and we had a ton of fun at their wedding. Flash forward to 2008 and I get a call from AJ telling me he is getting married and “if I remembered him”. The truth is I have a hard time remembering my couples from year to year, let alone bestmen, but I did and we chatted about the Lance and Megan’s wedding. Then AJ dropped the bomb that the wedding would be in West Virginia. Now I like to travel as much as the next guy, but AJ and Nicole’s wedding was on a Friday night and I had another wedding scheduled for Saturday in Warren, Pennsylvania… 6 hours in the opposite direction. After meeting with them I knew it was going to be a celebration I wanted to be part of.
Here is my first ever video blog about my journey…

Jamie -
Thank you so much for djing our wedding. You did a fabulous job. I don’t know if West Virginia has ever been that “rockin”. We appreciate your willingness to travel so far to make our reception so memorable.
Diana and Andrew had an amazing wedding reception just north of Pittsburgh at one of my favorite venues, DuBois Country Club. Diana and Andrew booked my services all the way back in February of 2008 after seeing me at their friends wedding, Natalie and Mike. Here we are at Andy and Diana’s reception
Andy and Diana selected the Houserockers DJ Unlimited Package. They decided to include the monogram projection, uplighting with custom color, a photo montage and 8 hours of music.
Monogram Projection with Custom Design Light Blue Uplighting
A real cool concept we developed together was taking a traditional photo montage and taking it to the “next level.” I call it a Love Story with Photos. Take a look!
We also had a surprise visitor!!!
No State Troopers where hurt in that photo shoot!!!
Speaking of photos… If you want to some sneak peaks from their photographer Joelle Watt, click here.
Megan and Justin – October 4th, 2008 – Ridgway, Pennsylvania
North of Pittsburgh in the beautiful city of Ridgway, Megan and Justin had an amazing celebration. This is the second this year that Houserockers DJ has performed at a reception with a guest count of over 400 people. The wedding reception consumed the entire Alieo’s Cafe with guests seated in the 2 banquet rooms, a dinning room, and the bar area. I also got a chance to work with my good friend Steve at Paradise Video Productions. The reception started at 5 pm with dancing lasting until midnight. Thanks Megan and Justin!
Jackie and Ray – October 11th, 2008 – Brookville, PA
Jackie and Ray had a beautiful ceremony and reception at Pincrest Country Club in Brookville, Pennsylvania. Brad and Patty run the show at Pinecrest and do an awesome job.
Soooo, Jackie and Ray were looking for some unique ideas to incorporate into their wedding. They found a clip on YouTube of a DJ doing a “Sports Center” style introduction. That DJ just happened to be a very good friend of mine, Ken Petersen, from North Dakota. Here’s what we came up with for Jackie and Ray.
Jackie and I go back to her sister Andrea’s wedding. Both weddings had some things in common, but the most memorable is their brother’s play in a band, Sons of Brothers ,and once again they rocked the guests with some great covers and originals. It really was a night to remember!
This is Jackie and Ray’s review of my services on WeddingWire.
My husband and I have not had enough good things to say about working with Houserockers!! We loved EVERYTHING about our reception!! The introduction, the game, the props – WE LOVED IT ALL!!!!! You BRING the party!! I have seen it happen time and time again at my friends weddings and was elated that the celebration was just as awesome at our wedding!! We had a BLAST!!
Heather and Mike – October 11th, 2008 – Lucinda, PA
Fall Weddings and the Antler CLub go hand in hand. I didn’t realize I had over 8 weddings this year at the Antler Club. The best thing about the Antler Club is you can really make it unique and different with decor. Heather and Mike used white pumpkins as centerpieces and accents. They also brought in their OWN bar with a very unique top and used brown as their primary color.
I got a chance to work with my friends Aaron and Lucas from Identity Studio They do a great job! I am also in a wedding networking group in Venango County with Aaron and Lucas called Divine Dimensions.
Mike, Heather, and their bridal party arrived ready to party!!!
And Party They Did!!!!
………………Thanks Heather and Mike! ………………………
Jessica and Bud – October 25th, 2008 – Lucinda, Pennsylvania
Another great wedding at the Antler Club with Aaron and Lucas from Identity Studio
I have know Jessica’s dad, Tony, for many years when he used to be the store manager for the JCPenny’s in Clarion. We some good laughs talking about all the crazy things I used to make him and his employees do at their annual summer picnic.
Flashbox is a new company, based right here in Pittsburgh, and has been a hit at weddings so far. The technology behind the sleek, slim kiosk was designed by Carnegie Mellon graduates. Because of that, FlashBox is currently only available to Western Pennsylvania couples–giving them a chance to use this new gadget before anyone else in the country.
