Calling Matt and Taryn’s Wedding Reception AMAZING would simply not do it justice.  The room was on FIRE with ENERGY from the introductions to the very end of the night.  Taryn and Matt had a fabulous bridal party, a great family, and friends that came ready to party.  It really was a night to remember. I got to work with my good friend Vincent from ElizabethVincent Photography.  Check out his incredible work for Taryn and Matt.  Also a special thanks to Mimi from the Doubletree Pittsburgh

We had the absolute best day and all of our friends and family members have continued to compliment us on you.  Thank you!!!      -Taryn and Matt

Three sisters, Three weddings, and Jamie.  Being a part of family celebrations over and over (and over) again, is really the best part of what I do.  Above is Kelly (2002), Lauren (2007), and our beautiful bride Casey (2010).  This wedding was special on so many levels.   First, Casey and Ben wanted a mixed media presentation to their first dance and Casey’s dance with her dad.  I designed a custom music video of their favorite photographs that played to the music for each dance.  The real challenge was how to display the video.  So instead of bringing in truss or a screen/projector, I simply placed the 42″ plasma above the fireplace on the mantel.  A custom monogram was projected on the tv when no video was playing.

Second, Casey wanted to do funny photos as their guests favors to take home.  I mentioned, why not bring in a photobooth, and a after a quick call to my friend Cap Capello, we were all set!

Cap talking with guests waiting in line for the Photobooth.

And Finally, I got to work with some of my favorite people.  Brad and Patti from Pinecrest Country Club and Joelle Watt Photography.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this reception was.  I just makes me smile every time I think about it!  Enjoy the video highlights!

I love Friday night receptions. They just have a completely different feel to them. Desiree and Adam set the tone by arriving to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin” Their guests were on their feet at The Red Fern before I even introduced my first couple. It was really awesome!  Check out the video:

In Desiree and Adam’s bridal party was a soon to be Houserockers Bride (June 2011), Rachel.  Her fiancee Stephen and Maid of Honor (sister) Sarah were there as well!  They kept me going all night and were really a lot of fun!  Hats anyone (inside joke!)

Desiree and Adam had excellent taste in music.  They choose Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic” as their First Dance song, which happens to be one of my All-Time Favorites!  Thanks Desiree and Adam for my 42nd Wedding Wire Review!

When my good friend Shannon contacted me to do her daughter’s wedding 18 months ago, I knew it would be a celebration no one would soon forget.  Shannon is a successful caterer in DuBois, PA and we worked together at many weddings.

She has seen it all (twice), and now it was her turn to make her daughter’s wedding absolutely perfect.  I also had the chance to work again with my good friend Joelle Watt who shot the picture above.  Here is a link to more of Joelle’s photos.

I helped Shannon organize and plan the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all held at the Red Fern in St. Marys, PA.  Sue and the staff did a fabulous job.

I was not only the “DJ”, but my duties extended to being the day of wedding coordinator, provided sound reinforcement for the ceremony (with 2 singers), Video Presentations (Slide show, First Dance Visualization, Father/Daughter Slide show), Image Monogram Projection, and Accent Lighting.  Simply put, it was the biggest wedding of the year!  Check out the video:

Jamie,

Good morning. Just got back from the Caribbean and wow, what a change! Kelly and I wanted to thank you for making “our day” the most memorable day of our lives. From the very beginning, you have been a joy to work with and have always answered any questions that we had. Your creativeness and passion for what you do clearly shows through in your work. I can’t tell you enough how many people came up to Kelly and I said the DJ really set the mood and it was the most fun they have had in years. Several people have said that you were the best DJ they have ever seen and trust me, these people go to a lot of weddings! Being the bride and groom, you are pulled in a thousand different ways on your wedding day but Kelly and I both did not have to worry about one thing….a great time at the reception! You kept everything moving along and right on track so that the evening was memorable not only to us, but for every person in that place. We cannot thank you enough for your dedication, time, effort, and professionalism. I have and will continue to recommend you everyone that I talk to. Simply put, you are the best in the industry. Thank you again for eveything you’ve done for Kelly and I. It was perfect!

All the best and stay in touch!

Travis & Kelly

Travis and Kelly celebrated with over 250 of their closest family and friends at the Antler Club in Lucinda, Pennsylvania.  They included accent lighting (purple) and a continuous photo montage.  I was also able to help Travis with a surprise for Kelly.  Watch this video:

I can’t say it enough that this reception was really great.  Some beautiful heart felt moments, great energy, and family and friends that came to wear the dancefloor out!!!

Thanks Kelly and Travis

Jen and Matt held a beautiful wedding reception at DuBois Country Club.  The room looked amazing!!!  The night reflected their own style and taste with a very smooth introduction to Ray LaMontagne’s “You’re The Best Thing”, to some Prince for the bouquet and garter toss.  One of my favorite parts of the reception was when the entire room came to the dance floor to sing “American Pie” as the unofficial Inzana Family Wedding Tradition.  Take a look at the video:

Here is Jen and Matt’s Wedding Wire Review:

Jamie is the best of the best. He made our wedding perfect down to the very last detail. It was by far the most fun wedding I have ever been to (even if it was my own). The amount of energy he radiates throughout the crowd is outstanding, there was never a dull moment, and the dance floor was completely full from the first open dance to the end of the night. His experience and professionalism took a tremendous weight off of our shoulders and helped us to enjoy our wedding just as much as everyone else did!

The dance floor was really packed from the begining of the night to the very end!!!

Thanks Jen and Matt!

Brian and Deanna – Downtown American Legion – Clarion, PA

Amazing Wedding held in Clarion with Deanna and Brian.

Sometimes the most memorable part of a wedding is not planned or well thought out or even perfectly timed.  It just happens! Sure the night was romantic,  beautiful and everything Deanna and Brian had ever dreamed of, but surely the most memorable part was when Brian ran up to me during the open dancing and said…. “It’s time for Invisible Touch”.

Here is Brian and Deanna’s Wedding Wire Review:

Jamie did an awesome job at our wedding. We didn’t have to worry about a thing! He was extremely professional and very helpful. From the moment the bridal party walked in the door, he knew exactly what to do and took charge. I was able to relax and enjoy my reception because I knew Jamie could handle everything. The music was perfect. He played everything that we requested and everyone raved that we had awesome music at our reception! Thank you Jamie, you were fantastic!

Brian and Deanna

A great time was had by all of Brian and Deanna’s friends and family especially a friend that we will call “Jim”.  “Jim” was on the dancefloor with Brian and of their college buddies but didn’t dance to anything.  Not a THING!  As I picked up on this it became the running joke of the night.  Also, I kept calling him Tim, which was kinda funny too!   Finally I just stopped the music near the end of the night and asked “Jim” the next song was his and I would play anything he wanted.  The best he could come up with was Metalica – “Enter Sandman”. So I played it.  And Jim DANCED!!!!  (sort of)

Jim’s friend Jon summed up the wedding like this via Facebook:

The DJ mocked Jim for not dancing and played Metallica. The dudes got cut off (at the bar) all at once….  Oh and Brian & Deanna got married.

Thanks Brian and Deanna for a GREAT NIGHT!

Katie and Gary – Grand Concourse – Pittsburgh, PA

Once Again, my clients choose stunning places to have their events.  Katie and Gary selected The Grand Concourse.  It is part of the Station Square Complex on the south side of Pittsburgh.   The Grand Concourse is the lobby for the old Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad.  The place oozes history!

Here is a view from below looking back up the staircase.

I’m actually set up on the second floor where the open dancing took place.  All of the formal dances happened on the landing pictured below.

In the main bar area on the lower level, I provided a plasma display for a photo slide show of Katie and Gary.  It was included in their Houserockers DJ 6 hour premium package.

Katie and Gary choose the perfect venue as it showcased the formal side of the event downstairs and when it came time to dance, the party was ON upstairs!

Thanks Katie and Gary!

Megan and Jeff – Holiday Inn Beaver Falls

Megan and Jeff held a fantastic wedding reception at the Holiday Inn –  Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.  Megan and Jeff choose  the Houserockers Standard Package.  Megan’s mom, Karen was at a wedding I performed at a few years ago and had to have me for her daughter’s wedding.    Megan and Jeff set the tone for the night with their entrance music with them arriving to “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”, which led them to cutting their John Deer Tractor cake, and we wrapped up the night with “Big Green Tractor.  No it wasn’t a country themed wedding, as I played a wide variety of music, but it just goes to show you that with some well placed music, you can really personalize an event to reflect a bride and groom’s taste and style.  It was really a fun reception with lots of interactivity, props, and group dances.

I also got to see my friends Ryan and Kristen who I did their wedding back in July of 2009.  Here is a link to their blog entry.

At the end of the night, I look for a few clues to see if people really enjoyed themselves.  Here is one of those clues:

Thanks Megan and Jeff!!!!

Erin and Pat – New Years Eve – The Casino – Altoona, PA

Erin and Pat planned a magnificent wedding reception atThe Casino at Lakemont Parkin Altoona, PA for New Years Eve.  I usually don’t share client specific agendas but through a collaboration of Pat, Erin, Doug Simon from The Casino, and myself, we came up with something unique and original that really worked for a New Years Eve wedding celebration.

  • Cocktails
  • Introductions (guests to be standing around edge of dance floor or near entrance) (I Gotta Felling / Let It Rock)
  • Open Dance (2 fast)
  • Cake Cutting:
  • Toasts:
  • Patrick’s Welcome – First Dance:  At Last – Etta James
  • 2 slow dances
  • Dinner – buffet / bar closed / vocal jazz dinner music
  • Father/Daughter:  My Girl – The Temptations
  • Mother/Son:  Unforgettable – Nat King Cole
  • Step-Father/Daughter:  Wait For Me – Bob Seger
  • OPEN DANCING
  • Bouquet Toss
  • Dollar Dance

It’s rare to have any dancing before the meal let alone fast dancing, but this really set the tone for a fun action packed NYE.  The slow dancing following Patrick’s speech and the couples first dance really added a more classic feeling to the reception.  The best part was all the guests loved it and participated with lots of dancing.

Here is the last 4 minutes of 2009 leading into the new year.
